Unless you are building an extremely large load order with a lot of record editing and merging of mods, (we are talking well over the plugin limit, and over 400 - 500 total mods), LOOT will do the job, and you should not be changing things unless it is something that LOOT is known to get wrong.

Mod category as you describe it has absolutely nothing to do with where or where not a mod should load, and guide authors should not be saying it does.

So, I've decided to stick with the tried and true "Modded Skyrim" to create a baseline working game and then add to that, a couple mods at a time, until I have the game I want - instead of a game dictated by some guide. Mostly, they included a lot of mods that I'm not interested in having in my game, at least not at this time. But none of them were exactly what I wanted. I found some guides that seemed pretty good: Phoenix Flavour Lexy's LOTD Nordic Kyrim TucoGuide. Recently, I decided to branch out, to explore other mods and modding guides. LOOT, which you can find on Nexus, is the way to go.Īs for guides, I use "Modded Skyrim SE" by CFS111: ĬFS111's guide is clearly written, fairly easy to understand (even for a newbie modder/tech dummy like me) and contains most of my "must have" mods. This leads me to wonder if INSTALL ORDER is just not that important. But non of them follow an exact INSTALL ORDER (ie: Textures first / Weapons last). As you've noticed, they all suggest adding mods in small groups based on their type. Each of these mods is downloadable through Bethesda's modding interface online or via the in-game menu, though PC players can also find many of them on third-party modding sites such as the Skyrim Nexus.Lil Dragon Chick, I'm finding similar discrepancies when browsing modding guides.
The Inigo mod is one of these classics now brought to Anniversary Edition compatibility, and others like the Faster Leveling mod or Kato's Whiterun make changes that make the now 11-year-old game feel fresh and exciting to explore again. Updated Apby Erik Petrovich : Mods for Skyrim Special Edition and the game's recent Anniversary Edition are still churning out as if the game was just released, though there are still some old classic addons that may never be updated for the game's most recent version. Half a year since the release of Anniversary Edition newly compatible mods are being released much more regularly, though it's still a good idea to double-check whether your version of the game is compatible with these mods. The release of Skyrim Anniversary Edition threw a wrench into the cogs of the Skyrim modding community thanks to changes to the game's code.
